The Toronto Women's Softball League (TWSL) started in 1992 and is a non-profit women's recreational league and is a program of the City of Toronto - Parks, Forestry and Recreation.
 
All players must be 19 years of age by May 11, 2010. You can join either individually or as a team. Generally, teams should consist of at least 14 players – however 9 players will fill the field.
 
The 2010 season begins the mid May and runs until the end of August. The season consists of a round robin format and playoffs. All teams make the playoffs and are guaranteed 3 games. The pitching is generally fastpitch.
 
The league uses certified umpires and follows Softball Canada's rules for fastpitch, except for 2 major exceptions – all registered players present are on the batting order and pitchers can only pitch two consecutive innings and must sit what they pitch. All teams receive a league manual outlining league rules and regulations in detail.
