TWSL - Toronto Womens Softball League : Headlines REGISTER NOW FOR 2010 SEASON March 2, 2010 Register today for the 2010 TWSL Season!Individual players must complete a player survey form, which can be found in the documents tab. You are encouraged to register no later than APRIL 8th, 2010 as spaces will be limited after this date. Toronto Women’s Softball League Information Sheet for 2010 When/Where: Runs mid May to end of September Diamonds in downtown Toronto including Riverdale West and Trinity Bellwoods Frequency: Teams play one night a week–exceptions are: if there are an odd number of teams in your division. You may have a bye for a couple of weeks during the season or have nights when your team plays a double header. All teams make the playoffs. Cost: $99 per player per season. The registration fee is non refundable once you stepped on the field for your first game. $12 for a substitute player–3 games max – not eligible for playoffs – non refundable. Note – no refunds for missed games. To be eligible to sign up for recreation programs, you need to have a client number and family number with the City of Toronto. League Info: Fastpitch Softball – strike zone, sliding etc – Softball Canada Rules apply except for several participation modifications–which include–all registered players on the bench are on the batting order, unlimited defensive substitutions between innings, pitchers may only pitch two consecutive innings then must take a break from pitching Level of Play: The league has 2 divisions. A: Plays on Tuesday nights. Most competitive division – most players have experience at the rep level or a strong high school league. Barcode: 1672725 B: Plays on Wednesday nights. Less competitive than A – pitching slower–mostly half whip. There are generally less power hitters. Barcode: 1672723 Players: Substitute players must register by using Div A barcode: 1672847 and Div B barcode : 1672845 Coaches: All coaches must be registered to be on the field using barcode: 1672845 Teams: There are established teams that have been playing in the league for a number of years. As spots open up new teams are accepted into the league. New players are always welcome. After you register you will receive a confirmation letter in the mail and it will ask you to email mvieira@toronto.ca to outline your playing experience. This will be taken to the “draft” meeting–teams that are looking for players will pick players based on their needs. We have been able to accommodate all new players that have registered prior to mid April. After the league has started it is harder to place new players on teams. Register early to avoid any issues.
